Dating back to 1865, the Tornatore family has always had a detailed knowledge of the territories near town of Castiglione di Sicilia. Today, the agricultural activity of the company is based on the ownership of 110 hectares of which 60 hectares are vineyards. As a consequence, Tornatore’s vineyards are one of the largest the Etna DOC production area.
Tornatore’s vineyards at altitudes of 550 to 700 meters count several locations in different districts: among them the remarkable contrade of Bragaseggi, Piano dei Daini, Zottorinotto, Pietrarizzo, Malpasso, Pietramarina, Torre Guarino, Carranco and Trimarchisa, all in the Castiglione di Sicilia Municipality.

60% Nerello Mascalese & 40% Nerello Cappuccio
A blend of Nerello Mascaleses and Nerello Cappuccio shows ruby red with faint purples, typical of these varieties which are not very rich in color. Clear hints of red berries, morello cherry and black cherry on the nose. The taste is characterized by its typical balanced tannins and a surprising fullness, flavor and persistence.

Nerello Mascalese
The Pietrarizzo Contrada, for over a century, is considered by the population of this area, one of the finest cru. The grape variety, Nerello Mascalese, is cultivated in terraces, vinified in cement tanks and aged in large wooden barrels.
Pale ruby red. Delicate and incredibly balanced finish on the nose. There are evident scents of small red fruits, flowers, perfectly integrated with minerality and evolution worthy of a great wine. In the mouth it is of great structure but of surprising drinkability and elegance.
