Dorino Livon's story is fairly short but it has taken him a long way. He is now one of the most established and renowned Friulan winemakers. A story that has its origins in a passion and a family tradition: the love of their land, the Friuli. Especially for the part of Friuli which represents the last bulwark facing Eastern Europe: the Collio and Colli Orientali del Friuli. In 1964 Dorino Livon purchased the first piece of property in the hills of Collio.

The wines come from the most important hilly regions with the highest vocation for wine production of Friuli. The care and the passion in the cultivation of vineyards, the respect of traditional rules in the vinification, and the constant attention for the new technologies permit Livon to make wines with elegance and marked personality. The refinement of the wines lasts for years in the wine cellars before receiving the famous trademark of the winged woman; the condition for a superior quality.

2016 Collio Friulano

Tocai

100% Friulano (used to be known as Tocai) grapes hand-harvested and stainless steel fermented. It is straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The bouquet is delicate and recalls almonds. On the palate it is tasty, medium-bodied, harmonic, it leaves the palate dry. it is an excellent aperitif; perfect with fish dishes or grilled white meat. Particularly good with raw ham (San Daniele), even slightly smoked.  Can be aged nicely for 4-5 years.

2013 Braide Alte Gran Cru IGT Collio

40% Chardonnay, 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Picolit & 10% Moscato Giallo

Of 10,000+ wines produced annually in Italy, about 250 are selected by Gambero Rosso for their coveted Tre Bicchieri (Three Glass) award; this fabulous blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Picolit and Moscato Giallo has won this award, a record six years. Only 8,000 bottles produced from the Livon Braide Alte vineyard. An intense straw-coloured wine golden reflections. The bouquet is intense and spicy and the flavour is elegant and dry. It is a wine of great structure, full-bodied and warm, with an almost untamed nose, strongly reminiscent of Sancerre, is intense in its long lasting aromatic flavours.

2012 Tiareblú Gran Cru IGT Collio

65% Merlot & 35% Cabernet Sauvignon

Less than 6,000 bottles of this very special wine were produced from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes coming form 25 year old vines of the Tiareblú vineyard. Both fermentation and 12 to 14 months of maturation took place in 225 litre oak barriques prior to blending, followed by 18 months of bottle ageing prior to release.  The colour is bright red with garnet nuances. The bouquet is intense, pronounced and full. Aromas of wild-berry, light vanilla, along with aromatic wood. It is a full flavoured wine with lots of body and the flavour and grace of a great wine.
