2013 was the beginning of a new adventure for the Giannitessari winery. Headed by Gianni Tessari a well-respected name in the wine field of Verona, especially for Soave, and known for his non-compromising attitude in making wines of quality. His 55 hectares of vineyards are distributed in three DOC (Roncà for the Lessini, Soave and Sarego for the Berici Hills); in the modern 7,000 square meter cellar, 350,000 bottles are produced comprising 15 labels. These are the numbers of a reality that, under the guide of Gianni with the help of his wife Anna Maria and their daughters Valeria and Alice, combines a wide range of territories and personalities.

 

2017 DUE Veneto Rosso IGT

50% Merlot & 50% Cabernet Franc

A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.  For two-thirds of the grapes: crushing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature, for about 20 days. For the other third, slight drying in the fruit-room, crushing and blend of the two components to trigger a second fermentation. Hence the name Due (Two). Aged in oak tonneaux.

Garnet red color. Fruited scents with hints of cherry, small fruits of the forest, spicy hints and flower hues. In the mouth it is full and velvety with soft and balanced tannins. Serve with first courses with meat sauces, grilled or roasted red meat, poultry, mildly seasoned cheese. Only: 2,500 cases produced (750ml)

2018 TAI ROSSO Colli Berici DOC

Grenache Noir

Handpicked in cases coming from a single 3/4 Ha parcel, the Tai (dialect name otherwise known as Grenache) grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for approximately 10 days at controlled temperature 10-25°C, then agedin 4,000 liter oak barrels for 12 months.  Intense ruby red color. Complex aromas of forest red berry fruit and blackberries. Robust structure and sweetly tannic ending. Only 8000 bottles produced. Serve at 16-18°C, it goes well with boiled meat, salted codfish “à la vicentina” and cheese.
