2006 AOC Fronsac - Château de la Huste

90% Merlot & 10% Cabernet Franc

A beautiful Fronsac made up of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from 40 year old vines grown on chalky-clay soil. An intense red colour with a persitent nose of dark cherries and violet, it is a very full and well-balanced wine with savoury tannins, very approachable at a smart-with-no-hesitation price. Very enjoyable now but can be layed down for several more years.
