2009 Vintage Port
This fantastic vintage is made from grapes from a single vineyard - Quinta do Roncao Pequeno in the Cima Corgo area. The plots of vineyards are more than 40 years old, face south and are field planted with more than 10 grapes varieties. This is a vintage with great concentration and simultaneously fine and elegant. Fruity, but not ripe, with aggressive and rich tannins and a long finish. Impressive finsse even though robust.
Overripe and dry grapes were taken out to reassure the silkiness of the wine. The grapes from Quinta do Roncao, were fermented with traditional foot treading in lagares. After fortification with grape brandy, the wine aged in stainless steel tanks. This fantastic wine was bottled in 2011.
2012 Late Bottled Vintage Port

The grapes to produce this great LBV were hand selected and picked from 30+ year old vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douron then fermented with traditional foot treading in lagares. After fortification with grape brandy, the wine was aged in inox tanks and old oak vats. It was only bottled four years later in September of 2016.
