Situated in the heart of Portugal, Dão region is one of the oldest wine regions in Portugal, a rugged region of contrasts and stories. Although it was created in 1908, it was the first demarcated region of pasture to be regulated in Portugal in 1910.
The 15 Ha of vineyards planted at Quinta do Cruzeiro are delicately treated in conformity with sustainable agricultural practices; organic farming consistent with the values and the heritage from past generations (the properties have been in the Melo family for 400 hundred years). When Julia took over in 2000 and decided on the direction of the estate, the preliminary analysis of the land confirmed that it was free from contamination indicating that there has always been a concern to preserve what nature gave. Since the first vintage to be sold commercially in 2008, Julia Kemper wines have showcased the traditional varietals of the region and have garnered rave reviews in the domestic and international press. They are boutique wines, elegant, with a delightful acidity, floral aromas and amazing texture.

40% Malvasia Fina, 40% Encruzado & 20% Gouveio
Aged 6 months in French oak barrels, this wine presents a magnificent citrus color with greenish reflections. Very young and fresh with notes of orange blossom, soft lime, custard apple and mango. It reveals a rich acidity and good mouth volume, with a pronounced character, expresses a unique minerality, elegance and personality. The “in mouth” sensation is fresh and long. Best served at 12°C.

40% Touriga Nacional, 35% Tinta Roriz, 15% Other varieties & 10% Jaen
Hand picked from vines grown on ganitic soils; aged 12 months in French oak barrels and then an additional 12 months in bottle before release. This wine of extreme elegance and character presents a purple color and a complex and striking aroma where we can find ripe red fruit combined with notes of rosemary and moka. The palate is long and structured. Best served at 16-18°C.

Velvety and soft with the presence of educated tannins. Shows finesse, an exquisite bouquet and elegant persistence.

This wine was made from the most emblematic grape varieties of Dão, Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro. "Curiosity" reveals the greatest expression and magnitude of wines created in Quinta do Cruzeiro and signifies a milestone of singular authenticity. It demonstrates a very deep red color with garnet nuances. The aroma is complex and delicate, revealing blackberry notes combined with shades of violet, bergamot, spices and soft woods expressions. In the mouth it is velvety, with the presence of educated and well-designed tannins. It presents a balanced structure with long and exquisite bouquet end.

Organic Certified. This wine is the result of the combination of the four main grape varieties of the Dão region: Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro and Jaen. Deep ruby colored with an intense aroma of wild berries and bergamot. In the mouth it is full-bodied, without losing its elegance. The aftertaste is long and complex.
