Kavaklıdere Winery, the first private sector wine producer in Turkey, is founded by Cenap and in 1929 in Ankara, it has steadily developed to become Turkey’s leading wine producer. The company owns 562 hectares of vineyards in the most important wine-producing area of Anatolia, where we strive produce grapes that have been successful in the production of Anatolian wines for hundreds of years and to introduce wines from international grape varieties grown in Anatolia’s varied micro-climates to achieve their best potential.
2011 Angora Red
35% Carignan, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Alicante & 15% Merlot
Angora Red is a soft, round and well balanced blend wine produced from Carignan, Alicante, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes grown in Aegean region. Angora Red revealing the Aegean soils' energy, matches perfectly with deli meats, lightly sauced chicken and red meat dishes, Bolognese sauced pasta, hamburger and barbecue. It is best served at 16 - 18°C.
2011 Yakut Classic
Yakut, the most favourite red wine of Turkey, is produced from Öküzgözü, Boğazkere, Alicante and Carignan grapes carefully selected from the best vineyards of Eastern Anatolia and Aegean Region. The best vinification method is applied to the grapes in order to reveal their characters. Yakut is a distinctive red wine with rich aroma character,strong ripe tannins on the palate and good balance. It is best when served at 16 -18° C and matches perfectly with pizza alla Turca, cold red meat plates, deli meat, lasagna alla Bolognese and pastas.
