Domaine des Hauts Châssis
2011 Crozes-Hermitage Rouge Cuvée Les Chassis
Selected from a single vat of wine made from vines over 50 years old. Aged in old oak for 12 months prior to bottling. To the eye it is a clear very deep crimson tinted with mauve. An elegant mature spicy nose of violet, mocha, Havana tobacco, cacao, nutmeg, black cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry and game followed by a warm, firm resounding mouth populated by tannins made soft and silky in the maturing process. This vintage will go well with a rib of beef, game, marinated meat dishes, etc.
