Viña Valdivieso
www.valdiviesovineyard.com

Viña Valdivieso dates back to 1879 when Alberto Valdivieso founded Champagne Valdivieso, the first company in Chile and South America to make sparkling wine. More than a hundred years later in the late 1980s, the company expanded in a new direction when it began commercial production of still wines, as Viña Valdivieso, in their Curicó Valley winery in Lontué.

Valdivieso wines have since had a very successful career, triumphing in major world markets and achieving the highest honours in international competitions. These achievements are not an objective in themselves, but rather the result of the search for superior quality wines that are both distinctive and attractive.

2016 Valley Selection Sauvignon Blanc
Gran Reserva

Sauvignon Blanc

The Leyda Valley has a strong maritime influence due to its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. This area is fresh and allows a smooth and slow ripening of the fruit, which determines a greater retention of acidity. Poor soils also bring minerality and freshness to wines.

Slight yellow colour with green reflections. Intense aromas are reminiscent of tropical fruits, citrus fruits and subtle herbal notes typical of the variety. Fresh, full of fruit, its great fruit intensity is perfectly balanced by a lively acidity and subtle mineral note.

2013 Valley Selection Cabernet Sauvignon
Gran Reserva

Cabernet Sauvignon

The vineyards are located in the Rapel Valley, whose hot, dry summers allow Cabernet to mature peacefully before being harvested. These conditions deliver grapes of soft tannins, distinctive aromas of currants and nuts. In addition, this prolonged maturation allows silky tannins to be obtained.

Intense dark red colour. Aromas of cassis and currants, accompanied by subtle spicy notes that are perfectly integrated with aromas from the wine's stay in barrels. Round and large body, structured and tasty. A wine of great character.

2009 Valdivieso Eclat

65% Carignan & 35% Mourvèdre

The fruit comes from the Melozal area. Area known for its hot and intense summers, located in the area after the coastal mountain cord which makes almost no maritime influence. The soils are deep and low fertility. These conditions allow to achieve exceptional maturity, soft tannins and characteristic aromas and flavors. The vineyard of Carignan is dry, it is driven in the head and is more than 60 years old, characteristics for which it is naturally balanced.

Intense red with violet reflections. On the nose it is complex, with the presence of species, red fruits and soft floral notes. Unctuous, elegant, tasty, with tannins present and a vibrant acidity that balances the present fruit.
